ZAMBOANGA SCHOOL RECEIVES SATELLITE INTERNET SERVICE

/ 2 August 2025

A SCHOOL in Zamboanga del Norte has received two units of Starlink satellite internet service, significantly improving digital access and connectivity for both educators and students.

Camul Elementary School in Tampilisan was also given a Huawei Idea Interactive Hub from the Office of the President to support students in their learning.

Before the installation of the satellite-linked internet system, the school had no internet connection. It previously relied on a telecom provider whose services were discontinued due to billing issues.

During his visit, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. conducted an internet speed test that connected Camul Elementary School with four other schools in the province.

The initiative is part of the Last Mile Schools Program, which aims to address resource and facility gaps in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas.
