DEPED PREPARES FOR TEACHERS’ GROUP REQUEST FOR DIALOGUE
THE DEPARTMENT of Education has responded to the Teachers’ Dignity Coalition’s call for a dialogue on key issues affecting public school teachers.
In a letter signed by Undersecretary Wilfredo Cabral, the agency confirmed it is finalizing the implementing guidelines for the P7,000 medical allowance for DepEd personnel.
“Please be informed that DepEd is already in the final stage of review of the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) on the grant of Medical Allowance, in accordance with Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Circular No. 2024-6,” the letter stated.
The agency expressed its willingness to meet with TDC representatives to discuss the allowance provisions and other teacher-related concerns.
DepEd’s Employee Welfare Division has been tasked to coordinate with the TDC on the details of the upcoming meeting.
