/ 22 December 2024

THE VISAYAS State University has partnered with the Cooperative Development Authority to conduct trainers’ training on cooperative fundamentals, governance, and management.

VSU President Prose Ivy G. Yepes and CDA Regional Director Venus M. Jornales formalized the collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Agreement in the presence of key CDA and VSU representatives.

The partnership aligns with the CDA’s mandate under Republic Act 11364, which seeks to establish alliances with academic institutions to promote cooperative advocacy and education.

Under the agreement, VSU will lead training-of-trainers sessions, refine course outlines, and conduct research to evaluate the programs’ effectiveness in fostering cooperative development.

CDA Board Member Asec. Abdulsalam Guinomla lauded the initiative, highlighting its importance in strengthening cooperative education and promoting collective progress in the sector.

VSU Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Rotacio Gravoso described the agreement as a milestone, emphasizing the vital role of cooperativism in driving community development and progress.
