UST TOPS PH UNIVERSITIES IN THE 2025 INTERDISCIPLINARY SCIENCE RANKINGS
THE UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas emerged as the top Philippine institution in the inaugural Times Higher Education Interdisciplinary Science Rankings 2025.
Among 749 universities from 92 countries, UST ranked in the 251-300 bracket, with a score of 39.8-42.5, excelling in inputs (54.7), process (66.7), and outputs (29.7).
THE evaluated universities using 11 metrics grouped into three pillars: inputs (19%), process (16%), and outputs (65%).
The inputs pillar assessed interdisciplinary science research funding (8%) and industry funding (11%), while the process pillar covered success measures (4%), facilities (4%), administrative support (4%), and promotion success (4%).
Outputs focused on research publication quantity (10%), proportion (5%), utility (5%), quality (20%), and reputation (20%).
UST’s research centers facilitate interdisciplinary collaborations addressing global issues, particularly those aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals.
