TUP VISAYAS STUDENT BAGS 1ST PLACE IN REGIONAL PSQ TILT

A STUDENT from the Technological University of the Philippines Visayas emerged as the champion of the 28th Regional Philippine Statistics Quiz tilt.

Resh Garcia outperformed 17 top student contestants from Western Visayas to claim the title. Garcia will represent Region VI in the national finals on December 5 in Metro Manila.

Yel Pogoy of the University of the Philippines Visayas secured second place, while Charles Lawrence B. Benares of Colegio de San Agustin – Bacolod claimed third place.

The competition, organized by the Philippine Statistics Authority and hosted by PSA Region VI, tested the contestants’ statistical knowledge and skills.

The PSQ is an annual event aimed at promoting statistical literacy and appreciation among Filipino youth, testing students’ knowledge in statistics, probability, and the Philippine census.

This year’s PSQ is part of the National Statistics Month celebration, which emphasizes the role of data and digital transformation in national empowerment.
