SUCs AND LGUs SHOULD COLLABORATE IN RISK ASSESSMENT AND LOCAL DEVELOPMENT PLANNING — SENATOR
SENATOR Loren Legarda underscored the need for collaboration between State Universities and Colleges and local government units to improve risk assessment and local development planning.
Legarda stated that LGUs should adopt a broader approach to disaster risk reduction and management and highlighted the importance of community-centered initiatives to protect citizens’ lives and properties, enhancing disaster resilience across the country.
She emphasized the necessity for local officials to understand the threats posed by disasters and the impact of climate change on their respective areas.
