SENATOR APPLAUDS APPROVAL OF BILLS IMPROVING EDUCATION ACCESS IN DAVAO ORIENTAL
SENATOR Christopher “Bong” Go lauded his colleagues for approving on third and final reading two bills aimed at improving access to education in Davao Oriental.
The Senate approved House Bill 10441 and House Bill 10442.
House Bill 10441 aims to establish the Manikling National High School in Barangay Manikling, San Isidro, ensuring that students in the area no longer need to travel long distances for secondary education. House Bill 10442 seeks to establish the Maputi National High School in Barangay Maputi, Banaybanay, to serve students in nearby rural areas.
Both bills also allocate funds for constructing and maintaining the schools.
Go, a strong supporter of initiatives that enhance education access, emphasized the importance of these schools in improving the lives of youth in remote areas.
“We must ensure that every child, regardless of their location, has access to quality education,” said Go, who also chairs the Senate Committee on Youth.
“With these new national high schools, we are helping shape a future where no Filipino youth is left behind due to a lack of access to education,” the senator added.
Go noted how these measures align with the government’s broader vision of making public services, including education, more accessible to Filipinos. He reiterated that education plays a key role in breaking the cycle of poverty and empowering communities.
“Education is the key to family prosperity. When more youth gain access to quality education, the standard of living improves,” he concluded.
