PALACE SUSPENDS CLASSES, WORK IN 3 REGIONS ON JULY 25
MALACAÑANG suspended classes at all levels and work in government offices in Regions III, IV-A, and the National Capital Region on Thursday (25 July 2024) due to continuous heavy rains brought about by the Southwest Monsoon and super typhoon Carina.
The suspension aims to hasten rescue, recovery, relief, and rehabilitation efforts of the government and the private sector, according to Malacañang.
“However, those agencies whose functions involve the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital services shall continue with their operations and render the necessary services.”
Meanwhile, the suspension of work for private companies and offices is left to the discretion of their respective heads, it added.
On Wednesday (24 July 2024), the Metro Manila Council approved the resolution declaring NCR under a state of calamity.
As a result of super typhoon Carina and the southwest monsoon, Metro Manila has seen numerous places submerged in water.
Local government units earlier suspended classes at all levels.
