MANILA Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan declared on Sunday the conduct of Free Sports Clinic under the Manila Sports Council from June 18 to 22 as a successful event.

It was learned that the Second Mayora Honey Lacuna Free Sports Clinic was participated in by sports enthusiasts of basketball, badminton, karate-do, swimming, and volleyball.

Lacuna-Pangan said the objective of the program is to teach kids under 14 years of age the fundamentals of various sports disciplines to keep them away from vices.

At the same time, the local chief executive said there are plenty of activities lined up for the celebration of Manila Day, in collaboration with the Department of Tourism, Culture and Arts of Manila.

She said the city also held Miss Manila 2024: Woman of Worth at the Metropolitan Theater with 24 women Manileñas vying for the prestigious title of Miss Manila 2024.

The event was hosted by Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, Miss Universe 2022 R’Bonney Gabriel, and Kapuso star Gabbi Garcia.
