THE BATANGAS State University romped away with the top prize in the nationwide parol-making contest of Malacañang.

BSU bagged the P1-million grand prize, while the second winner, the University of Northern Philippines, received P500,000 and the third, Bohol Island State University won P250,000.

Meanwhile, the Polytechnic University of the Philippines received P100,000 for obtaining the highest number of votes.

“All top 3 winners received a laptop and mobile phone showcases on top of the cash prizes they received, while their respective state universities and colleges received photo and video editing packages, which include a Gigabyte G7 Gaming Laptop with a one-year Adobe Creative Cloud subscription,” the Presidential Communications Office said.

“The schools also received a Canon M50 camera, 1 DJI Ronin-SC camera stabilizer 3-Axis Gimbal, and 1 Insta 360 Flow AI-powered smartphone stabilizer.”

A total of 86 entries from various State Universities and Colleges have joined the “Isang Bituin, Isang Mithiin” contest.

The announcement of winners was made during the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in Malacañang on Saturday.
