COTABATO Governor Emmylou Taliño-Mendoza stressed the importance of peace during the Summer Kids Peace Camp which was attended by over 1,800 children.

The SKPC aims to teach children the importance of discipline, friendship, unity, understanding, respect and trust despite the differences in culture, belief and religion.

The governor considers the summer peace camp a peace initiative or strategy.

Mayor Evangeline Guzman led the program and welcomed the return of SKPC after three years.

She thanked the governor for promoting the program, as well as the teachers and parents for their support.

Present also during the event held last June 9 were Public School District Supervisors Rebella Dulay, Ricky Dalida and Aida Delon, Division Information Officer Charlie Antipolo who represented Schools Division Superintendent Romelito Flores, and Municipal Councilor Leah Saldivar.
