CSB ROLLS TO FOURTH STRAIGHT WIN AFTER SWEEPING EAC
College of St. Benilde (CSB) kept its record unscathed with a 4-0 slate after defeating Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC), 25-16, 25-16, 25-16, Friday in NCAA women’s volleyball at the Paco Arena.
It is a clear sky ahead for the Lady Blazers as they remained undefeated this season and will try for another championship title since their conquest in the 2015-2016 season.
The first frame started where both teams took turns to score till 10-9 in favor of EAC before CSB unleashed a 9-1 run to snatch the lead 18-11.
The Lady Blazers were done adjusting in the game and later on ran wild for six unanswered points to go up 24-16 before a back row error from the Lady Generals gave the first set score to CSB.
CSB continued to dominate in the second set where they started off strong and effortlessly claimed a 12-2 advantage and widened the gap up to 23-10.
But the Lady Generals tried to recover and made a 6-0 run to cut the difference down to 23-16 where Cathrine Almazan contributed two service aces; still, CSB ruled over EAC as the Lady Blazers answered with two consecutive attacks.
The third and last frame was no different as EAC gave CSB the match point after a rotation error.
Jade Gentapa, Jhasmin Gayle Pascual, and Michelle Gamit contributed to the win as they delivered 17, 16, and 11 points, respectively.
Meanwhile, EAC stayed winless in four outings despite Krizzia Reyes and Almazan scoring 14 and 12 points.
