BATAAN PENINSULA STATE U RECEIVES P2.9-M FOR COMMUNITY DEV’T PROGRAM
THE DEPARTMENT of Science and Technology has released P2.9 million for the community development project of the Bataan Peninsula State University.
BPSU said that the money will be used for its Community Empowerment through Science and Technology program.
The project aims to provide livelihood and alleviate poverty in remote communities.
The chosen beneficiaries were the marginalized residents of Barangay Bangkal, Abucay; and Barangay Palili, Samal, Bataan who were greatly affected by the pandemic.
“The program’s implementation entails provision and transfer of technology-based livelihood projects to the identified communities,” DOST said.
“This will also facilitate the transfer of technologies to beneficiaries along the areas of education, health and nutrition, water and sanitation, disaster risk reduction, and industry development or livelihood,” it added.
