Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) chairman Butch Ramirez revealed that Duterte has a slot in the said Olympics.

“Ang Presidente, may slot doon sa IOC na inayunan ng national Olympic committee, which was agreed upon by national Olympic Committee,” Ramirez said.

Ramirez said that he and PSC chief of staff Marc Velasco will go to the event regardless of Duterte’s decision whether to go.

He said they will be supporting the Filipino athletes during the Olympics.

“Tama lang na nandoon kami for whatever the needs of the athletes financially. I don’t want to be reprimanded by our government for remiss of the support of these athletes,” he said.

The Philippines has 19 representatives to the Tokyo Olympics.
