5 UDM FRONTLINE WORKERS GET COVID19 JABS

/ 20 May 2021

FIVE frontline workers of the Universidad de Manila were inoculated with Covid19 vaccine on Tuesday during the symbolic inoculation of education frontliners in Manila.

Those inoculated work as full-time faculty, security guard, janitor, information and communications technology director and an employee from the registrar’s office.

The “Symbolic Five” were Mary Jane Quintana, Rogelio Garado, Jeffrey Litan, Marjune Del Valle and Noami Solano.

“100 doses ng Sinovac vaccines ang atin pong itinurok para sa symbolic vaccination na ito. Isinagawa ang pagbabakunang ito matapos aprubahan ng national government ang final list ng A4 Priority Group kung saan kasama na sa listahan ang mga frontline workers in basic education and higher education institutions and agencies,” Manila Mayor Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso said.

Commission on Higher Education Chairman Prospero De Vera III said the vaccination of education frontliners will “save the students from missing credentials” amid the implementation of distance learning.

“If we don’t vaccinate our education frontliners, we run the risk of students not being able to enroll next school year or having graduates who can’t take their licensure examinations or are unable to look for employment because of missing credentials,” De Vera said.

He added that about 150,000 education personnel in higher education institutions will have to be vaccinated.
