IF YOU LOVE DANCE AND FILM, IT’S ABOUT TIME YOU SIGN UP FOR ‘KAPIT SINING 2020’

This three-day event happening this November 20-22 celebrates dance and captures it through the art of film and here's how you can join!

/ 26 October 2020

Dance always has a place for self-expression, even at a time of a pandemic. Maybe not in any of the theaters around the city, in dance studios, large halls, or outdoor stages. At least not for some indefinable time to come. But dance is everywhere and boundless, if you have a screen and good connectivity.

For the love of dance and film, KAPIT SINING 2020 aims to put two different art forms in one platform. Through this year’s three-day virtual event, it gathers 15 local and international choreographers, featuring directors, as it unites enthusiasts through the art movement of dance and film.

Not only does it challenge and allow people to showcase their talent, but it also allows them to “explore the possibilities of combining dance with film, asking the importance of looking at dance in the lens of another art form.”

After the zoom meeting, there will be a prompt that will pop-up for camera use. Take a selfie, which will be edited into a collage that will serve as the official class photo. (Don’t worry. You can retake the photo, as needed.)

Pre-recorded tutorial videos will be uploaded on the LGAC website. These videos will then be saved for three days, with community talks every night conducted via Zoom. You can also interact and ask questions through the comments section.
