GOVERNMENT IDs YOU NEED IN YOUR 20s!
Aside from the responsibilities on our plates as an adult, we are also required to have such things that are necessary for living. In this article, we are going to talk about the always sought for valid ID’s.

Why do we need valid IDs?
In the country and also to others, valid IDs play a big role in society. It serves as an individual’s identification and proof of existence. Not just that! Government issued IDs are also needed for many things, like job application, bank application, government benefit’s application, even as small as entering a private building, and believe it or not, valid IDs are needed to get another valid ID.
So, what are these Government IDs that we need to have as early as now?
1. PHILHEALTH ID
PhilHealth ID is an important one on the list because it is necessary in claiming our health benefits. The identification card will last you a lifetime and the good thing is it’s free!
Where to claim: Just go to the nearest PhilHealth Local Insurance Office (LHIO)
What you need: Submit 2 valid IDs or a photocopy of your NSO birth certificate, two copies of their Member Registration Form, and 1×1 photo.
2. NATIONAL ID
Probably the latest valid ID on the list. The National ID will serve as a uniform non-expiry identification for all Filipino citizens.
Where to claim: Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) official website or PhilSys registration centers.
What you need: a government-issued document that bears your full name, front-facing photograph, and signature or thumb mark.
3. PASSPORT
You might think that a passport is only for those who will travel overseas, but that’s not always the case. Domestically, it’s a valid ID that will help you in your public or even private transactions. Though unlike the first two on the list, passports only last up to 10 years for 18 years old and above.
Where to claim: Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Consular Office
What you need: Online application confirmation, fee, filled out application form, original and photocopy of PSA birth certificate, and an original and photocopy of any valid ID.
4. NBI CLEARANCE
Of course, this list will not be complete without the proof of being a responsible and a good citizen. NBI clearance is for that very purpose– evidence of being free of any misconduct and violations of the law. NBI clearance expires after a year but throughout its validity you’ll be able to use it as a valid ID for most transactions.

What you need: fee, NBI appointment, filled out application form, two valid IDs
