We are now living in the strangest of times. COVID-19 isn’t a usual disturbance. It is a major pandemic coming in waves that is causing deep repercussions on institutions and businesses. Schooling in particular must now be dealt in a different fashion, albeit difficult for students and institutions alike. With “work from home” and online learning emerging as the new normal and some businesses cutting costs, the transition from conventional way of going about the day whether working or learning, to low-contact online touch has been a major concern.

Online teaching and learning has always been a fashion for many who prefer the internet over the usual face-to-face interaction. It has existed for a long time, just a little later after the rise of traditional classroom learning. However in a time of a pandemic like this, learning through computer screens has become greater than ever.

It includes everything from virtual study programs imitating the classroom on campus to specialized courses with interactive learning environments, to webinars and workshops, all via popular video call platforms. Typically, course material and lectures are delivered online before or during full duration programs. In a tough time like this, doing physical workshops has ended up with receiving materials from your doorstep and proceeding online for the actual program.

One thing is for sure is that even when this pandemic ends, the transition from online to face-to-face learning won’t be the same as we’re now adapting to new technologies, which is now leads us to the new normal.
