UST KICKS OFF SEASON 84 WITH A WIN OVER FEU

The Golden Tigresses notched the best of three sets, 25-23, 25-20, 25-21, with Eya Laure leading the team with her 13 kills to finish with game-high 14 points to go with nine excellent digs.

However, despite seizing the first set, Hernandez had a bad landing in the same set and twisted her left ankle causing her to be sent off the bench.

Accordingly, UST head coach Emilio “Kung Fu” Reyes carried Hernandez off the court and missed four points of the game.

Coach Reyes expressed that Hernandez’ injury immediately got swollen. But despite missing one leg of the team, he was satisfied that his team was still able to pull through.

“Luckily nanalo kami ng straight sets. Every error na nagagawa ng players is nare-recover naman nila,” he said.

Camille Victoria, on the other hand, showed a promising performance for the Tigresses after nailing 12 points in her UAAP debut.

Still, it was a notably good play of the Lady Tamaraws after giving UST shaky ground with closing the advantages but no one on the team was able to pour twin digits.
