TIGER CUBS NAMES MCJOUR LUIB AS NEW HEAD COACH; GROWLING TIGERS SECURES KEAN BACLAAN
UST is not only rebooting its collegiate camp but as well as the tiger cubs as they secured Mcjour Luib as the Tiger Cubs’ new head coach and also the addition of La Salle Zobel’s Kean Baclaan for the senior’s team.
Coach Luib has been tapped for serving as a deputy to former coach Aldin Ayo in La Salle and UST. He was also part of the coaching staff during Letran’s championship back in NCAA Season 91.
Baclaan’s transfer has been confirmed by the program of head coach Jinino Manansala and shared that he will be eligible to play on UAAP Season 85.
“Hindi madali mag-decide, pero alam ko and alam ng parents ko kung sa’n ako mapapabuti and kung sa’n ko ma-reach ‘yung full potential ko as a basketball player,” Baclaan told Tiebreaker Times. “
“Pumunta ako sa school na alam ko kung sa’n ko malalaro ‘yung larong meron ako… sobrang excited na ko na makasama sila sa team and ibabangon ulit namin ‘yung sigla na nawala sa UST community.”
The 5-foot-8 had his basketball career honed by the program of San Sebastian before entering De La Salle Zobel (DLSZ).
From 13.41 points, 5.35 rebounds, 3.58 assists, and 1.58 steals per game contributed to San Sebastian, Baclaan refined his skills as he averaged 16.38 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.69 assists, and 1.08 steals in UAAP season with DSLZ.
