SLAUGHTER SPILLS GINEBRA’S INEXISTENT TRADE UPON HIS RETURN

Newly traded Greg Slaughter of North Port revealed that there was no offer from the Barangay Ginebra last year when he decided to go on sabbatical to train in the states.

“For the record and to be perfectly clear: Last February 2020 I did not have an offer or an existing contract when I decided to train in the states,” said Greg in his Twitter account.

“I also had no knowledge about a trade, I just came off a championship and a gold medal in SEA Games after all,” he added.

Weeks have already passed since the official Ginebra’s trade Slaughter to NorthPort in exchange for Chris Standhardinger.

And clearing his side, the 6-foot-11 center propounded that he was guaranteed to still play with the Kings and the trade rumors upon his return were nothing but a fallacy, after all.

“When I returned to the Philippines at the end of 2020, I asked if the trade rumors were true and was told they were not,” he averred.

The big man pinned down the hearsay of the real reason behind his sabbatical—trade rumors.

“Stop with this narrative!” Slaughter concluded.

Nonetheless, the Never-Say-Die squad was able to hug the victory of the last PBA bubble conference without Greg on the team.
