THE NATIONAL Collegiate Athletic Association has decided to call off its scheduled games on Tuesday due to bad weather caused by Typhoon Uwan (international name Fung-wong).

Although the typhoon, which has already made landfall in Dinalungan, Aurora on Sunday night, will be over the West Philippine Sea by Tuesday, Malacanang decided to suspend classes and work for the next two days, prompting the league to follow suit.

“In view of the announcement from Malacanang Palace regarding the suspension of classes and work in the National Capital Region on November 10-11, 2025 due to the threat of Super Typhoon Uwan, the NCAA prioritizes the safety of student-athletes, spectators, and all stakeholders,” NCAA management committee chairperson Melchor Divina of host school Mapua said in a memo posted on its Facebook page.

Tuesday’s games at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay were supposed to be highlighted by the second meeting this season between archrivals San Beda and Letran at 2:30 p.m., succeeding the 11 a.m. clash between Lyceum and league-leading Perpetual Help.

These games are crucial as the race for outright quarterfinal seats heats up.

“A revised schedule will be announced once conditions permit and safety is assured,” Divina further said in his statement. (PNA)
