G-LEAGUE VETERAN BELIEVES KAI SOTTO WILL BE DRAFTED IN NBA

After being projected as undrafted by media outlets for next year's NBA Draft, former Team USA member Reggie Hearn thinks differently, placing confidence that Kai Sotto will surely be the top pick in the big-league next year.

Hearn started his career with NBA G League Idaho Stampede, Westchester Knicks, and Reno Bighorns right after his college career. Eventually, the shooting guard landed with the Detroit Pistons which helped him pave his way into his NBA debut in 2018.

The 6-foot-5 guard was one of the key pieces in the USA World Cup Qualifying Team that led him to bag the 2018 USA Basketball Male Athlete of the Year.

Since 2013, Hearn has been staging in both NBA G League and the NBA. After working closely with the 7-foot-2 Filipino ballplayer in the Ignite team, Hearn speaks highly of Sotto.

He is convinced that Sotto will not only be drafted but will also bring a huge impact into the league.

Hearn anticipated the drafting of the three elite prospects Sotto, Jalen Green, and Jonathan Kuminga.

“I think all three will get drafted,” he mentioned. “It will happen especially if we get some games under their belt, competition, between the work we’ve been doing here.”

Hearn is bold enough to say that the three Ignite teammates will make an impact on whichever club wants to have them.

According to him, what is admirable regardless of Sotto’s raw talent is his desire to learn.

“The thing I love about him of them is they’re very humble, they’re willing to listen to us vets,” he added.

As one of the oldest of the Team Ignite, he believes that with Sotto’s skills, he can eventually make it to the top.

“Kai has all the necessary skills to be a great offensive big man in this league. He’s also very very smart.”
