KAI SOTTO MISSES NBA G LEAGUE BUBBLE AFTER “MUTUAL DECISION” WITH IGNITE
Kai Sotto’s NBA dream has been halted temporarily as he will not be joining his Ignite team in the ongoing NBA G League bubble in Orlando, Florida.
The new development was announced through social media by the NBA G League itself with the certainty of Sotto not re-joining the Ignite.
“Kai and the team both understood the challenges for him to rejoin Ignite given the current international travel constraints, quarantine times and health and safety protocols,” said NBA G League President Shareef Abdur-Rahim.
The young baller earlier this month decided to play for Gilas and chose them over the NBA G League, but the supposed third window FIBA 2021 bubble setup has put a stop due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
After the postponement of FIBA 2021, Sotto flew back to the US on February 14 batting for rejoining his team, but too late to be back in which was also what coach Shaw affirmed saying that “Right now, we have 12, 13 guys on our roster. So I’m just coaching the guys I have here.”
And now with international prospect Sotto missing the stint, the Fil-Am Jalen Green is taking the light of the Ignite with a record of win-loss 5-3.
“Kai will always be part of the extended Ignite family and we wish him continued success as he pursues his NBA dreams,” the statement concluded.
