JAMES DE LOS SANTOS SNAGS THREE GOLD MEDALS IN E-TOURNAMENT SERIES; SECURES TOP SPOT BEFORE YEAR ENDS
E-kata world no. 1 James Delos Santos continued to dominate the international virtual kata scene and concluded the year with flying colors as he bagged three additional gold medals.
For his first gold out of the three, Delos Santos won against Slovenia’s Nejc Strenisa, 25.38 in Unsu over 24.18 of Gojushiho Dai, in the gold medal match of the Katana Intercontinental League Super Final.
The 30-year old karateka added another gold by edging out opponent American Alfredo Bustamante, 25.3-24.1, in the Grand Final of the Golden League Karate E-Tournament.
Completing his golden hat-trick, the two-time ISKF World Champion took down Belgium’s Philippart Chrisley with a 25.4-23.4 victory during the E-karate Games.
The two-time Southeast Games bronze medalist will cap the year with a total of 36 gold medals.
He went undefeated since the fourth leg of the Sportdata E-Tournament World Series last September 9.
Delos Santos currently holds the top spot in the current ranking of the e-tournament for male senior’s category of the World Karate Federation (WKF) with 15,710 points.
“What a way to end the year 2020. It has been a blast,” De los Santos said.
