Saitama’s weekend was a morale boost as the team routed Toray Arrows in a five-set game on Saturday and swept the BlueCats the following day with a three-straight set win.

With the said development, Ageo Medics improved to 13-8, as they stayed at the sixth seed while the Bluecats are one rung lower with an 11-10 record.

PFU had the upper hand in the first frame but Saitama ran late to stun and take control of the game.

Brazilian import Lorenne Teixeira delivered 12 points on nine kills and three blocks to lead Ageo Medics and cruised to victory in the second frame.

Yuka Sato’s 11 points, Mami Uchiseto’s eight points, and Santiago’s nine points ensured that the game would be finished at the third frame.

Santiago’s successful block at the third set put the team at a 20-19 advantage and thereafter wrapped up the game with a crosscourt hit.

Meanwhile, PFU was led by Melissa Valdes’ 16 points, while Vietnamese Tran Thi Thanh Thuy contributed 12 from six attacks, four blocks, and a pair of aces.

Santiago and the Ageo Medics will try to continue their domination in a square off against Victorina Himeji on March 5 at the Victorina Wink Gymnasium.
