FEU LADY TAMARAWS ACQUIRE TAY TUNG VOLLEYBELLES JULIANE MONARES, KIESHA BEDONIA
Bacolod Tay Tung High School Thunderbolts middle blockers Juliane Monares and Kiesha Bedonia will don the colors of green and gold as they will be bringing their defensive skills to the Far Eastern University (FEU).
The announcement was confirmed by Thunderbolts Assistant Coach Roberto Calamba, Jr. saying “It’s a done deal,” to Panay News.
The Tay Tung High standouts were no stranger to FEU Women’s Volleyball Team Head Coach George Pascua as the Thunderbolts and Lady Tams exchanged spikes in a tune-up game last year, Calamba shared.
Bedonia, 18, shared that it was a dream come true for landing on FEU Lady Tams was one of her dream schools aside from the University of Santo Tomas.
“I am looking forward to have a great time there. I also look forward to build a stronger bond and chemistry with my teammates,” she said.
Monares, on the other hand, said that it will be an honor for her to wear the FEU jersey and will be grabbing the opportunity to reach her goals.
The Bacolod native is looking forward to improving her game with the guidance of the FEU coaches.
“I am certain that there will be a lot of adjustments but I hope that whatever skill and ability that I have can be of help to FEU,” Monares said.
The addition of the Tay Tung volleybelles will be a step for the Lady Tamaraws to reorganize following the decision of Czarina Carandang, Gel Cayuna, Celine Domingo, Chin Basas, and Carlota Hernandez to skip their final year.
