CINCINNATI EYEING SAGE TOLENTINO TO JOIN BEARCATS’ LINEUP
Cincinnati Bearcats joined the long list of schools actively trying to pull Fil-Am Sage Tolentino to their campuses.
“I am extremely blessed to get an offer tonight from Coach (John) Brannen at UC. All glory to God,” he shared in an Instagram story on Thursday.
The 7-foot center has received a recruitment offer from the Bearcats as they join the laundry list of colleges hoping to land the 16-year-old center.
Among the notable products of Cincinnati was 1964 NBA MVP Oscar Robertson, 15-year NBA veteran Kenyon Martin, as well as Nick Van Exel, Ruben Patterson, Danny Fortson, and current Orlando Magic forward Gary Clark.
The Bearcats were leading the AAC with their 13-5 record before the outbreak of COVID-19 in the US and holds a 20-10 overall win-loss record.
Moreover, several collegiate teams also recruited the Hawaii-raised Fil-Am slotman including Kentucky, Kansas, Tennessee State, and Auburn.
Currently with East-West Private, Tolentino stood out in his final year with Maryknoll High School, earning 13.5 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks to carry his side to back-to-back State Championships in Hawaii.
