BREN-LIN NO MORE: BREN TO MISS BERLIN MASTERS DUE TO VISA ISSUES
Southeast Asian Valorant Champions Tour: Stage 3 Masters top seed Bren Esports will miss the event which will be held in Berlin, Germany due to Visa issues.
Riot games said that their camp did their part but was met with tight travel restrictions due to the Covid19 situation.
In a statement, the developers said that they worked with the government of both the Philippines and Germany but were unable to secure the players’ Visa.
“As a result of this decision, the format for the tournament will be modified and Group D, where Bren Esports was placed, will pivot to a double round-robin with the top two teams advancing to the Elimination Stage,” Valorant Esports Head of Competitive Operations, Alex Francois said in a statement.
“Bren Esports will be awarded 175 VCT points and the associated prize for qualifying until Masters Berlin. No other group will be impacted, and the tournament will conclude with an eight-team single elimination bracket,” he added.
Despite missing their Berlin stint, Bren Esports still thanked its fans for the support.
“We are proud of our Valorant team’s achievements and look forward to their continued success. We are thankful for all the support that the community has given us through these trying times, and we will continue to break barriers because of your overwhelming support,” the team said in a statement.
Speculations regarding the matter initially surfaced Friday night after players aired their disappointment in cryptic posts.
