The top Filipino Valorant team dominated the Challengers since day one which was hosted by the Philippine Pro Gaming League.

In the best of five-game series, ArkAngel overruled Bren in the first map Ascent, then the black and yellow squad came with a dominant comeback with a wild 13-5 win in Haven, then followed by a crushing 13-4 victory in Icebox before proceeding to their last fight in Bind, 13-8.

Things were pretty tight for Bren in game four at Bind, as ArkAngel yielded for a resurgence and were only down 5-7 by halftime but Bren did not give any space for ArkAngel to recover as it ended with a 6-3 run in the second half to take the series 3-1.

With the victory, Bren emerged as the first team to qualify for Southeast Asia Masters Stage 1 featuring teams from Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia/Singapore, and Hongkong/Taiwan which routes down to the 2021 Valorant Champions Tour in its Stage 2.

Furthermore, Bren, composed of birthday boy JessieVash, whoME, DubsteP, BORKUM, and dispenser, took home the P120,000 champion’s prize in the tourney organized by Riot Games.

Still, ArkAngel did an impressive run that settled for PH₱50,000 (or over US$1,000) in consolation and earned a spot in the Challenger 3 to have a redemption to get into the Masters as they are still qualified for the Week 3 event, to take place at the end of the month.

While Oasis Gaming and Hashira also secured a seat to the next Challengers and pocketed P20,000 each for finishing 3rd and 4th place respectively.

The VCT SEA Masters tournament is set to tip-off between March and April featuring eight best Valorant teams in Southeast Asia competing for a place at the Valorant Champions tournament in December.
