#KabataanSaHalalan Part 2: BETante Na Ako! AIRING ON AUGUST 14

After its successful event last April 2021, The Philippine Online Student Tambayan (The POST), the first online news portal and media brand for the student sector in the Philippines, is back with the second installment of this three-part webinar series, which aim to bolster youth participation in the electoral process.

#KabataanSaHalalan: BETante Na Ako! is a two-hour panel discussion featuring different sectoral representatives to give the youth a wider perspective about pressing issues in our society.

The vision of this program is for the youth to have elevated standards of qualification in choosing the right candidates for the right government position. The event is slated for August 14, 2021 at 2:00pm livestreamed via The Philippine Online Student Tambayan’s Facebook page.

Among the panel members who will join this Saturday’s discussion is Rep. France Castro, founding President of the Alliance of Concerned Teachers Partylist, who will present the challenges and important issues in the education sector. She will sit alongside Gio Potes, SOGIE Officer from the University of the Philippines Diliman Gender Office who will represent the LGBTQIA+ community and Micah Almira Simon, volunteer teacher in Lumad Bakwit School and Save Our Schools Network, who will advocate for the Indigenous Peoples Community.

This program will also put spotlight on the Persons with Disability sector, as represented by Markus Operiano, Youth Council Member of the UNICEF Global Partnership on Children with Disabilities. Also joining the discussion is Riyan Portuguez, also known as Your Millennial Psychologist in social media, a registered psychologist and psychometrician advocating for mental health awareness.

#KabataanSaHalalan Part 2: BETante Na Ako! is made in partnership with Pinas Forward PH, a social movement that engages communities in empowering younger generation towards positive social change.
