GLOBE READY TO DEPLOY LIBRENG TAWAG, CHARGING, WIFI SERVICES IN NORTH LUZON AS FLORITA INTENSIFIES
Globe is ready to extend Libreng Tawag, Libreng Charging, and Libreng WiFi services to residents in areas that may be affected by Tropical Storm Florita, which is now battering Northern Luzon.
As part of the company’s intensified disaster preparedness campaign, Globe assures the public that its technical and support personnel are now prepositioned in the area and are on call. There are also standby generators in its facilities in case of power supply interruptions to ensure continuous communications services.
Globe is also providing its customers free data access to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) website for updates from authorities, and reminds Filipinos to tune in to legitimate and trusted websites for the correct information.
In case of heavy rains, possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms, Globe advises residents to stay indoors, store enough food and water, prepare first aid kits, emergency light sources and batteries, ensure that their mobile phones are charged, and expect to receive SMS alerts from NDRRMC.
Severe tropical storm Florita intensified further on Tuesday morning and made landfall in the northern province of Isabela, according to PAGASA.
Florita was packing maximum sustained winds of 110 kilometers per hour near the center and up to 150 kph gusts as of PAGASA’s 11 a.m. bulletin Tuesday.
