THE SHUTDOWN: A BLINDED ODYSSEY

/ 15 September 2021

The world cloaked by evil has never reached its end, as the rainbow decorated the dismal sky. We were given a thousand chances to do good, and He – the great sage was so merciful, yet we still decided to do evil, which is why mankind is being condemned. The chances if trees may never grow again, land will be perpetually dry, the oceans might be frozen still and living things will cease to exist, has been at its highest peak and to whom will we blame? We can’t always blame Him for everything that has been happening around us because He is just doing the next right thing. It is an honest mistake that we really are imperfect but it doesn’t mean that we can’t make things right before it’s too late.

As we take a look around us, the world is obviously in shambles. It has opened its doors to the deadly virus that has killed millions of people across the globe until today. This is not God’s doing, but He foresaw the condition we are in long before it occurred. You may have asked yourself a number of questions that contradict His ideals. However, we overlooked the idea that He may not have started it at all; instead, our choices may have led us all down the same path. The world was also startled by Afghan terrorists who appear to be turning a blind eye to the chaos. Why do they kill and draw blood from their own hands? Is it because of power and greed? As to a camera, its lens has lost its focus that’s why the outcome turned out to be blurred and misty. Having the mindset that the grass would always be greener on the other side with you doing nothing but rant, is wrong. We all crave to put an end to the pandemic but we forget to discipline ourselves to be able to stop the spread of the virus, we also are frightened by the intercultural conflicts that have been happening but all we do is cry and be narcissistic and when things don’t go as planned, we always choose to do evil rather than continue doing good. Our mind is both a gift and a curse. It is only with the choice of oneself that could alter several misfortunes.

Therefore, the destruction towards oneself is omnipresent. At the end of the day, if we still refuse to do what is right, our shortcomings might become failures that would hinder the inner peace we seek. If a door is opened, there is a key and that is our purpose. We must look for the key to be able to decide whether to open all doors or keep it closed until the time is right. However, at times, the key might already be in our hands and all we have to do is search within.
