/ 25 December 2021

THE ROYAL Thai Embassy Manila, in cooperation with the Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company, donated a water tank to the Gov. Bado Dangwa Agro-Industrial School in Kapangan, Benguet province.

Together with officials of the Department of Education, the delegates of the embassy headed by Thawat Sumitmor, the Chargé d’Affaires, First Secretary Aditat Panupong and Second Secretary Witsarut Piyavongsomboon, visited the school of the fourth Princess Maha Chakri Award recipient, Marcelo Otinguey, for the turnover ceremony.

Otinguey, Head Teacher V of the school, was recently awarded the prestigious Princess Maha Chakri Award for his significant contributions to the lives and education of his students.

Otinguey toured the delegates and the DepEd officials around the school. He also presented his programs and projects.

DepEd International Cooperation Office Director Margarita Consolacion Ballesteros, DepEd-CAR Regional Director Estela L. Cariño, and Schools Division Superintendent of SDO Benguet City Gloria Buya-ao hosted a welcome dinner for the delegates.

“We have gone beyond people to people and country to country. We have started collaborating where it is most needed,” Ballesteros said.

Sumitmor and the other delegates thanked the school and the community for their hospitality.

They paid a visit to the Thai crafted Elephants in the Botanical Garden in Baguio City. The monument was constructed to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the diplomatic ties between the Philippines and Thailand.
