/ 18 August 2022

THE CITY government of Tagum boosted its support for the opening of classes on August 22.

It issued a memorandum to formalize its support for the Department of Education’s Brigada Eskwela.

The city implemented the adopt-a-school program wherein 29 offices of the local government unit assisted public schools.

These offices helped address the needs of schools especially in the physical preparation for in-person classes such as cleaning, repairing chairs and painting classrooms.

The Department of Education thanked Mayor Rey T. Uy for the assistance provided by the local government, including the distribution of face masks, alcohol, school supplies, cleaning materials, paint and chairs.

The DepEd said that 90 percent of the 47,000 public schools are expected to hold face-to-face classes at the beginning of the school year.
