BAYBAY Elementary School in Siargao, Surigao del Norte will soon have a new four-classroom building courtesy of the GMA Kapuso Foundation Inc. and several government agencies.

GMA Foundation, the Eastern Mindanao Command, 4th Infantry Division, 52nd Engineer Brigade, Philippine Army and other government agencies signed a Memorandum of Agreement and groundbreaking ceremony for the project on August 18, 2022.

The activity was attended by EMC Deputy Commander, BGen. Potenciano C. Camba; Commander of the 52nd Engineer Brigade, BGen. Francis Marlon S. Wong; 4ID Assistant Division Commander, Col. Joel M. Paloma; Ms. Rikki Escudero-Catibog, the Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer of the GMA Kapuso Foundation; Burgos Municipal Angie Arcena; Dr. Nelia Lomocso, the Schools Division Superintendent of Siargao; different stakeholders, teachers and students of the said school.

Camba said that students need classrooms that can withstand natural calamities.

Army Engineers from the 52nd Engineer Brigade will help construct the building.
