THE SCHOOLS Division Office of Masbate denounced the brutal killing of one of its personnel in Barangay Calipat-An, San Jacinto town last Saturday, May 22.

SDO Masbate Superintendent Nene Merioles said they condemned the killing of James Villamor, the principal of Interior Elementary School of San Jacinto.

“SDO Masbate denounces all forms of violence against our learners, teachers and other personnel as we call on the authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and look forward to results that will bring the perpetrators to justice,” Merioles said.

Police Major Ma. Luisa Calubaquib, spokesperson of the Philippine National Police in Bicol, said that Villamor was inside his house with his wife Daisy when two unidentified gunmen barged in at around 10:30 p.m. and fired at him.

Villamor was first rushed to Ticao District Hospital but was transferred to Masbate Provincial Hospital where he died.

Investigators have yet to determine the motive and the identities of the killers.
