DEPARTMENT of Education Undersecretary Alain Pascua commended Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong for spearheading the construction of a quality school building in SPED Center.

Pascua said he was amazed because the four-storey building with eight classrooms  was built in a span of two years.

Magalong has been conducting ocular inspections of the different public schools to assess ongoing projects.

The inspections also enabled him to determine the needs of some of the schools.

“Nakakaawa ang kalagayan ng ibang schools natin.  We have to do more to help them improve their physical facilities,” he said.

The mayor said the SPED Center building was envisioned to become the standard for other school building projects to follow in terms of quality to ensure students would really benefit from its use.
