TO GIVE teachers and students a breather, the Department of Education declared a two-week academic break in Calabarzon.

Regional Director Francis Cesar Bringas said that the break will be from Jan. 17 to 29.

“This suspension includes all other school activities, whether physical or virtual, that involve school-based personnel, learners, and parents,” Bringas said.

The official encouraged school division offices to make adjustments in the implementation of the curriculum after the furlough.

Bringas said that private schools in the region may exercise their own discretion “relative to the suspension of classes and K to 12 learning activities when Covid19 risks in their respective areas are high.”

The DepEd Central Office earlier released a memorandum allowing regional and school division offices to suspend classes depending on the Covid19 situation in their respective jurisdiction.
