DEPED-7 URGES IATF TO VACCINATE YOUNG ADULTS

/ 26 October 2021

THE DEPARTMENT of Education in Region 7 urged the Inter-Agency Task Force to inoculate young adults before the start of the limited face-to-face classes.

DepEd-7 Director Salustiano Jimenez said the ongoing vaccination drive against Covid19 would greatly help the education sector.

“To ensure the safety of everyone, it’s better if our students who will be going back for face-to-face classes will also be vaccinated. Not only our teachers,” Jimenez said.

Jimenez added that he coordinated with the regional office for the vaccination of young adults.

The Department of Health has approved eight schools in Central Visayas to hold in-person classes.

These schools included in the pilot run of face-to-face classes are Basak Elementary School of Samboan, Mahanlud Elementary School of Malabuyoc, Cabagdalan Elementary School in Balamban, Luyongbaybay Elementary School in Bantayan, Cañang-Marcelo Luna National High School in Oslob, Busay National High School in Moalboal, Pilar National High School in Pilar isla sa Camotes, and Siocon Elementary School in Bogo City.
