DAVAO LGU DONATES DIGIBOXES TO DEPED

/ 22 January 2021

THE PROVINCIAL government of Davao del Sur donated 700 units of digital TV boxes to the regional Department of Education to assist in the TV-based learning of students in remote areas.

During the turnover, DepEd Davao del Sur Assistant Superintendent Janette Veloso said that the TV boxes will greatly help in the learning continuity in the province.

“With these digital TV boxes, we can be assured that the learning of our young children will continue despite the pandemic,” Veloso said.

The TV boxes will be distributed to 220 elementary schools, 38 junior high schools and 25 senior high schools in Davao del Sur. Small schools will receive 2 digital boxes while bigger schools will get three.

Students will use the digital devices to watch DepEd TV and the instructional videos of EduTVDavSur, Deped Davao del Sur’s educational television programming service.

Division Federated SSG of Davao del Sur Romeo Sales Jr. said he is thankful for the donation.

“Through the digital TV boxes, it will be easier for us to understand our lesson because it seems we are just watching our teachers delivering lessons in the classroom. These are of great help to students who are having the difficulties in coping with learning in this time of pandemic,” Sales said.
