DAVAO City 1st District Rep. Paolo Duterte helped more than a thousand college students pursue their studies by providing them with educational assistance.

Duterte said the aid was given in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

“It aims to help students whose parents are in the lower-income bracket and those who lost their jobs due to the Covid19 pandemic,” the lawmaker said.

Under the program, 1,297 students from various schools received educational assistance for the current school year.

Jimboy Blanco, one of the beneficiaries, said Duterte’s aid enabled him to continue his studies.

Cathely Berizo shared the same sentiment, saying it would have been impossible for her to enroll for the semester without the assistance.

Aside from the college educational assistance, Duterte said 203 individuals also enrolled in the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.
