CEBU CITY POLICE: NO KARAOKE DURING SCHOOL HOURS

/ 17 September 2021

THE CEBU City Police Office reminded the public that karaoke sessions are prohibited during class hours.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Wilbert Parilla, deputy director for operations of CCPO,  said that the karaoke ban was part of the Oplan Balik Eskwela policy in Cebu City.

Parilla said that an information campaign will be launched about it.

City Ordinance No. 1940, also known as the Anti-Noise Ordinance, prohibits the use of karaoke in Cebu City, he said.

Violators of the ordinance face fines ranging from P1,000 to P5,000 or a maximum of six months in prison.

Parilla emphasized the importance of this limitation for students attending online classes and those taking modules in order to provide them with a conducive learning environment.
