BENGUET SCHOOLS TO IMPLEMENT FEEDING PROGRAM
THE DEPARTMENT of Education will implement the school-based feeding program in Benguet in partnership with the Benguet State University.
For 60 days, 26 schools will receive food rations to be distributed to learners.
The School Division in Benguet said 1,126 learners will benefit from the feeding program.
Schools division chief Benilda Daytaca said that through the program, young learners would get proper nourishment for better physical growth and development.
The selected schools will be given freshly-baked bread and fruits in March.
In April, these schools will receive pasteurized milk to distribute to children.
Present during the launching of the program were BSU Director of University Business Affairs Norma Banania, BSU Marketing Center Manager Carolyn Biteng, BSU Bakery Manager Arnie Mendoza, Chief SGOD Lucio Alawas, Medical Officer III Mary Grace Gumpic and members of the School Health Section Team.
