BANGSAMORO POSTPONES DRY RUN OF FACE-TO-FACE CLASSES

/ 11 January 2021

THE BANGSAMORO Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education postponed the pilot testing of face-to-face classes in light of the government’s decision to cancel the planned holding of physical classes.

“Pursuant to President Rodrigo Duterte’s recall on the pilot implementation/dry run of face-to-face classes in low-risk areas originally scheduled in January 2021 and consistent with DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones statement to suspend the pilot run of face-to-face classes, all schools are enjoined to suspend any plans of holding face-to-face classes and continue with home-based learning delivery,” BMBHTE said on Facebook.

“All existing MBHTE related issuance inconsistent with this memorandum are hereby rescinded,” it added.

Duterte halted the holding of limited face-to-face classes because of the threat of the new Covid19 variant.

The Department of Education backed the President’s decision.

The DepEd officially turned over the supervision of Cotabato schools to BMBHTE on December 28, 2020.
