/ 30 August 2022

THE PHILIPPINE Army sent off 129 officer candidates for training in Capas, Tarlac.

The sendoff rites for members of Class 58-2022 were held at the Philippine Army Grandstand in Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila.

Officer Candidate School, Training and Doctrine Command Commandant Col. Harold Cabunoc graced the ceremony.

The officer candidates will undergo training for one year in Camp O’Donnell to develop their physical, mental and leadership capabilities as the Army’s future platoon leaders.

Army Personnel Management Center Deputy Director Lt. Col. Ronaldo C. Mateo, who represented APMC Director Col. Patrick B. De Villa, enjoined the candidates to persevere in their chosen path to become future Army officers.

“Your perseverance, patience, and positive attitude brought you here in the hallowed grounds of the Philippine Army,” Mateo said.

“First, you have to believe in yourself that you can surpass all the challenges of training. Second, you have to keep the faith that everything we do is for the greater glory of serving God, our country, and the Filipino people. And lastly, don’t quit,” he added.
