ACT CONDEMNS KILLING OF HS TEACHER IN ABRA
THE ALLIANCE of Concerned Teachers in Cordillera denounced the killing of an educator in Abra province earlier this month.
According to a report from the Department of Education-Cordillera Administrative Region, Rodelio Claor, a senior high school teacher in Marc Ysrael B. Bernos Memorial National High School, was gunned down on November 1 by unidentified men while having his haircut in Bangued, Abra.
Investigators are trying to determine the motive for the crime.
“We extend our sincerest condolences to his bereaved family and loved ones and join them in the call for justice,” ACT-Cordillera said.
“This sort of violence, under such a climate of impunity, committed against diligent workers and public servants must be denounced as we enjoin everyone to tirelessly work for a culture of peace. Justice for Rodelio B. Claor!” the group added.
It also commended the school division of Abra for calling for an investigation of the killing.
