74 LEARNERS IN ABRA RECEIVE P3K EACH
TO HELP students and their families amid the Covid19 crisis, the Department of Education in Abra province gave 74 learners from elementary and secondary schools P3,000 each as part of the Bayanihan 2 for Basic Education Allowances Program.
“The listed qualified recipients were validated by the PDO II of Department of Social Welfare Provincial Office Ms Raquel Jane Talledo to ensure that they are not recipients of 4Ps or Listahanan Program,” DepEd-Abra said.
It also reported that Dr. Narciso Cannaoay, the program coordinator, personally handed out P222,000 to learners from June 8 to 17, 2021.
“He braved the heat of the sun, afternoon rains, long walks and long travels just to reach the qualified learners who passed the criteria set by DepEd-Central Office,” it said.
Lea Belmonte, a mother of one of the students, said that the financial assistance is a big help for their family.
“We needed the money to buy medicines and multi-vitamins to keep our family healthy during the pandemic,” Belmonte said.
