THE EDUCATION ministry of Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao has released three month’s worth of pay to its para-teachers.

The 393 para-teachers each received P45,000, equivalent to three months worth of work, which they rendered from October to December of last year.

BARMM education minister Mohagber Iqbal said the para-teachers have been re-employed until the end of the school year.

“With P15,000 salary per month, they were re-employed from provisional to Contract of Service following my request to BARMM Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim and the Ministry of Finance, Budget and Management to extend their services until the end of the school year 2020-2021,” Iqbal said.

The 393 para-teachers are serving temporary appointments as they have yet to pass the licensure examination for teachers.

Meanwhile, the schedule of release of salaries for para-teachers in the island provinces of Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi has yet to be announced by the BARMM education ministry.
