AROUND 1,000 teachers in Bacolod City have not been vaccinated against Covid19, Councilor Renecito Novero, chairperson of the City Council committee on education, said.

He said that 3,000 teachers have been given jabs.

Novero declared that the city council explained the benefits of vaccination to the teachers.

“We explained to them as well the disadvantage once they are not vaccinated,” he said.

He pointed out that teachers should serve as examples to students and parents to encourage them to get vaccinated.

“Once the face-to-face classes resume, our teachers should be vaccinated, including the students,” the councilor added.

Limited in-person classes will be held in 100 public schools beginning November 15, 2021.
